Amber Auret
My name is Amber Auret and I am 15 years old. I have been riding for four years and belong to Wanganui Petre Pony Club (Manawatu West Coast Area) and compete in a variety of disciplines, but my favourite is Eventing!
I currently compete at CCN105 level with my epic pony My Jimmy Choo and have 2 young horses Divani REQ and Tippy competing at CCN95, learning how to come up the grades.
Some of my main achievements are winning the North Island Eventing Champs, winning the Wellington Eventing Series, placing 5th at the NZ Three Day Event Champs and being chosen to represent NZPCA in Show Jumping and Dressage in China earlier this year.
As well as Eventing I also love Showjumping, Show Hunter and Showing, and thoroughly enjoy schooling young ponies.
I am super proud to be a Sponsored Rider for a brand with very important values and such a supportive environment, as well as stunning riding wear of course! My favourite Trevo products are the 'Tayla' Tights as they are super comfortable to wear.
Vanessa
Brownie
Hi I’m Vanessa, proud brand ambassador for Trevo Equestrian. I have been riding since I was 9yrs old starting out at the Plimmerton branch of Wellington Pony Club. I progressed to representing Wellington at Timberlands (A1 level) and made reserve for the Wairarapa Wellington champs team on my little self produced TB. Since pony club I have produced all my own horses through to 2/3* level/amateur rider not having the ability to get “ready made” I have also competed up to level 5 dressage.
Although I have a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Telecommunications and am a qualified primary teacher, I have focused my career around my first love, horses. I have been working for “Mason Equestrian ” (Sonya & Tayla) for over 25yrs where I’m involved with all aspects from foaling, working with young ones, exercising all levels , groom duties and everything in between.
I also run my own business Kapiti Equine Education currently based in Te Horo. Although I don’t have a large competition team myself anymore as this has been taken over by coaching and casual schooling of other people’s horses which I find highly rewarding, sharing my experience and passing on knowledge gained.
Theres nothing like helping other people reach milestones, have light blub moments and achieve their own goals.
The Trevo brand aligns strongly with my own values, “you matter” & “dare to be you”. We are all on our own journey, which can take many different forms.
My equestrian clothing has a hard time with my day to day life. The motto of clothing that empowers couldn’t be truer. I can trust this hardwearing brand to last and not let me down allowing me to face each day head on.
Hannah Thickett
Hey, my name is Hannah, and I’m 18 years old. I’m working at Foothills Equestrian, which is a breaking/starting/race horse equestrian yard. I mainly exercise the race horses and have just started breaking my first horse.
In my spare time, I like to compete my two horses. Dixie is my main girl, we event and showjump. Last year, I was competing at 95 xc and 95/105 showjumping. We attended the South Island showjump champs in January and also Springston Trophy, both in a team with my pony club. My other horse, Teddy, is an OTTB who is working his way up the heights at home.
I’ve had him out twice to ESNZ events, and I’m quite excited about his future. I trained under Briar Watson for a year until she left for Australia. Which we are all very sad about!!
I love what your company stands for! Empowering riders, encouraging kindness, fearlessness, and being your own brave. Something that I needed not so long ago!
I also love how each piece of clothing has a story behind it. Trevo is a company that any rider would be proud to represent. I have a few pieces now and love how they wear! My teal show shirt I have worn all year and it still looks like new. And I don’t go to any competition without my lucky yellow socks.
I love to promote your products through social media ( I do a lot of the social media for work at the moment) and also by wearing it with pride while out competing.
Sarah van der Sluys
Hi, I am Sarah. I own/run VDS Equestrian as my full-time job based in Canterbury. I am Scottish, married with a young son, and have 2 dogs.
I have had a passion for coaching and sharing knowledge from a young age which led me to leave school and train with the BHS in Scotland before meeting my Kiwi husband and moving to NZ over 22 years ago. I have been involved with equestrian sports for over 35 years as a rider, trainer, and groom.
My main focus with my business is polework, Poles Plus with VDS Equestrian, as well as private lessons. The most important thing to me is that I offer a supportive, confidence building space where handlers/riders of all ages and abilities can come together no matter what discipline they enjoy or if they are competitive or non competitive.
I am also on my own journey with confidence. I am currently working on my jumping fear, which I basically have had since a child. We are all on our own journey and have our own goals and fears to deal with, so why not tackle them together.
I would be so excited to be part of the Trevo Equestrian team as our values align in so many ways. I want all my clients to feel empowered and supported.
I absolutely love the Tayla tights. They are super comfortable, stylish, and very affordable.
